Abdominal Body Lift (Tummy Tuck)
WOOA Plastic Surgery sits in HM Tower on Gangnam-daero, a short walk from Sinnonhyeon and Gangnam stations. As a government-approved centre for international patients, we offer free online consultations, native-level interpreters and 24-hour urgent care support.
After major weight loss, pregnancy or simply with age, the skin of the abdomen can stretch and stop springing back.
Even when fat has been reduced, loose skin and stubborn leftover fat can leave the midsection looking uneven, and no amount of dieting or exercise will tighten skin that has lost its elasticity. An abdominal body lift, often called a tummy tuck or abdominoplasty, removes that excess skin and reshapes the tissue to restore a slimmer, firmer abdomen.
At WOOA Plastic Surgery, the procedure focuses on more than how much tissue is taken away. Our team looks closely at how the remaining skin and tissue are repositioned, planning incisions and sutures to follow the natural lines and movement of your body so the result looks smooth, firm and natural.

About the Abdominal Body Lift
Abdominoplasty at WOOA can treat the upper abdomen, the lower abdomen or the entire abdomen. To keep scars out of sight, upper abdominal work uses an incision along the fold beneath the chest, while lower abdominal work uses a minimal incision along the panty line.

Preparation
Please stop taking all medications two weeks before surgery unless advised otherwise, and let us know about any medications you currently take during your consultation. Avoid alcohol from two weeks before surgery until one month after.
Avoid smoking from one week before surgery until three months after, and fast for at least 8 hours beforehand.
If you have had surgery before, our anaesthesia team will review your history and decide whether further tests are needed. On the day, wear loose, comfortable clothing that does not press on the surgical area, leave metal accessories at home and remove any nail polish from your hands and feet.
Procedure
1. Abdominal liposuction: fibrous abdominal fat is carefully suctioned with a micro-cannula. 2. Minimal incision: sagging skin is corrected through small incisions hidden beneath the chest fold or along the panty line. 3. Micro-suturing: meticulous suturing inside the skin keeps scarring to a minimum. 4. Aftercare: a structured recovery programme run with our dermatology team supports a quick recovery. A board-certified anesthesiologist is on site for every surgery.
Recovery
After surgery you rest for 1–3 hours in a recovery room, and compression garments are provided in your size. WOOA then follows up with personalised aftercare for 4 weeks, including radiofrequency, ultrasound and massage.
Please attend follow-up visits at 1 month and 3 months after surgery so we can check your progress.
Results
As swelling settles, the final shape of your abdomen gradually appears, with increasing firmness and a more sculpted, natural-looking contour as healing continues. Combining the lift with liposuction can improve your body shape and even give the effect of weight loss.
Recommended For
An abdominal body lift may suit you if dieting or liposuction has not worked because of severe skin sagging, if rapid weight loss has left more loose skin, if you are tired of prolonged dieting, if you worry about sagging or unevenness after liposuction, or if you simply want to remove excess skin and restore elasticity.

FAQ
How is a body lift different from liposuction?
Liposuction focuses on removing fat, whereas a body lift mainly treats loose skin and restores firmness. The two can be performed together when needed.
Will there be noticeable scars?
Incisions are usually placed where clothing covers them. Careful planning and fine suturing minimise scarring, which fades gradually over time.
When will the results settle?
As the swelling subsides, the final shape slowly reveals itself, becoming firmer and more sculpted as healing continues.
How can I keep my results long term?
Keeping your weight stable, following the aftercare guidance and maintaining healthy habits will help your results last well into the future.
